Reflective Materials for Growing Cannabis

There are certain tools that are necessary for plants to grow. With many demands, including water, nutrients, and light, it’s important to make sure that as a grower, you offer your plants all of these. A lot of grow lights definitely come with a big range, and it’s important to make sure that you have the right tools to ensure that it goes back to the location that you want it to be, and it’s important to figure out how to utilize each of these in your space.

What are they

Reflective materials basically are what the name intends. They bounce off the light, especially back to the plants themselves. The light that goes above where the canopy is doesn’t just beam them down, but the light is more in a cone shape, so the middle part will hit the buds and leaves, but it can also hit the wall, floors, and sides, which creates leaky light, and then it’s basically a waste. Basically, what this is, you’ll be able to bounce this all the way back, fostering the growth and development of the buds.

This is vital for a lot of growers, as this can help with improving light exposure. It doesn’t require you to spend a ton on new lights either, but you just need to optimize the resources that are already there and it’s something that’s great for boosting the yields that are there for you to enjoy.

The best reflective materials.

There are a variety of different reflective materials for you to enjoy, and it’s important to make sure that you know what the options are out there. It’s also important to focus on the budget that you have when choosing this, so here are some for a variety of budgets.

Foil

Aluminum foil is the cheapest, as you probably will have some of this on your own. It’s good for covering tiny areas, cutting costs, but it does come with the price of it’s not that good, especially compared to the other kinds of materials. However, covering at least half of the light is good, as it keeps the light more inside one space. You can even find different adhesive sprays to help with this, reducing crinkles, and try to use the dull side to help with reflecting the light.

Emergency blankets

This is also something you might have on hand if you’re someone who has survival equipment you’re willing to forgo. This is great because it traps light, the same way it can trap heat. They’re made of mylar, which are somewhat reflective, and are better than foil in most cases. It doesn’t cost much either, and you can put tape against these edges, or strips that are double-sided.

White sheeting or paint

This is also something that works for a lot of grow tents. As you probably know, black paint will absorb the light, but white paint reflects this. Basically, you can slather the white paint on the walls, and it doesn’t take a ton of time or money, or crazy DIY skills. It’s pretty easy, and relatively cheap, and it comes with up too 90% reflectivity, so it’s one of the best bangs for your buck.

Panda film

Finally, there is panda film, which is black one way, white on the other, and you want to have the white side face away. This is also easy to erect, but this is one of the more expensive options, so if you have a big space, it’s better if you try to find a different kind of reflective element to help.

Best Selling Cannabis Strains

These past couple years have been quite the roller coaster ride. If there is one thing certain about the past few months, it’s that we are glad to finally pass the awful last year. This year had its own problems, including the ever persistent pandemic, but it was not nearly as bad as the year before it.

When it comes to cannabis, last year was a great year. The cannabis community throughout the United States made excellent progress in rallying for more state medical legalization and compassionate care. Cannabis is quickly becoming a real medicinal alternative to using various prescription drugs that could potentially be harmful. In fact, the cannabis sales in the United States surpassed $37 billion in the last year, and it seems to pretty much increase every year.

One of the draws for many cannabis users is that it is so versatile and able to be utilized in lots of different ways. Certain cannabis strains are better at treating certain conditions and ailments than others, and the way that a medical patient can use cannabis is very unique to them! The certain strains that medical marijuana patients can get varies from state to state, and it is also true that the cost can differ quite a bit depending on where you live and which strain you want.

Why do some strains of cannabis cost more than others? Is it because they are inherently better than others? Well, not necessarily. But there is a large range of prices for whole-flower cannabis, so that is something to keep in mind if you are planning on buying certain strains.

One of the cost factors associated with marijuana is quality control. If you have ever been to a dispensary and noticed that some strains are much cheaper than others, it might be because they contain some cannabis seeds. Honestly, the first quality control measure that you want to look for when it comes to using cannabis is if it is seeded or not. Seeded weed is usually not priced very high, especially compared to some of that top shelf cannabis you can find in the same dispensary.

The second way that cannabis may be priced higher than others is on the potency of THC that it contains. Did you know that there are different strains that have different potency levels? The cannabis strains that have more THC are usually going to be a bit pricier. However, smoking those highly potent strains means that you will feel the effects of the high much sooner than with other strains. If you are a medical marijuana patient that suffers from severe chronic pain or a debilitating disease, then cannabis with a higher potency may be right for you.

In other ways, the price of marijuana can be dependent on the terpenes profile. Terpenes are a crucial part of the marijuana experience and can definitely affect the value of the overall product. Terpenes have great medicinal properties as well. Some people rely on the terpenes for the peace, clarity, focus, and euphoric mental state that many have come to associate with using cannabis.

Today, we are going to be talking about some of the most popular marijuana strains. Unsurprisingly, the number one spot goes to the real OG - that is, OG Kush! This has been one of the most popular choices for both medical and recreational users and is basically uncontested with any other strain. The three dominant terpenes in OG Kush are myrcene, limonene, and caryophyllene. If you have never tried cannabis and are wanting to get into it at some point, this particular strain could be a great place to start.

Kratom Vs. THC

THC and Kratom are two popular plants. Kratom binds directly to your serotonin receptors, while cannabis works with the ECS. Both of these can help with managing pain and stimulation, but they do come with various side effects.

What Kratom Is

Kratom is basically a stimulant herbal supplement that works well, even without the caffeine in it. Some contain additives of caffeine, but the plant normally doesn’t contain it, and some say that it can be sedative in much higher levels.

The main component in this is mitragynine, which binds directly to your serotonin and opioid receptors, which is why lots will use kratom for helping to withdraw from these opioids.

This is used in a lot of cases to help with aches and pain, and it can help with fatigue, diarrhea, and the like. Usually, this is brewed in a tea form that’s stimulating, and is availible in both powder and pill forms. It also is used to help with withdrawal.

It reduces pain, boosts energy, and helps with addiction; however, it can cause dizziness, problems with blood pressure, heart problems, and also damage to the liver, and may danger those who are pregnant, which is why if you are someone who is pregnant, don’t use this.  It’s seating too, and it can cause overdoses too.

What about THC

THC is something found in cannabis plants, and it’s a very prominent cannabinoid.

This binds directly to your ECS, and it can help with controlling the bodily receptors, helping with reproduction, immunity, appetite, and memory.

This is great for different functions within life, including memory and immunity, and it can help with your studying, and it also help with improving pain and other problems.

Lots of people use this to relieve pain, treat nausea and other problems associated with chemotherapy. There are even products with THC that are FDA approved too.

There are tons of benefits, including the following:

  • Lowers insomnia

  • Reduces depression and anxiety

  • Less tremors for Parkinson’s patients

  • Manage and possibly kill cancer cells.

  • There are other therapeutic benefits too, which is why there are a lot of conditions that are allowing you to get a cannabis card.

Some people may want to use THC, but it can cause negative effects in people, especially since it can be quite psychoactive, and it can be something that can make you feel too intoxicated and high.

It also can cause the following side effects:

  • Agitation

  • Fatigue

  • Cottonmouth

  • Red eyes

  • Digestive problems and nausea

  • Headaches

This is usually if you take large dosages though.

The Differences and Similarities

They both come from plants, but THC is found in the cannabis plant.  They also are both psychoactive, but kratom comes from another kind of plant, and the psychoactive elements of kratom are quite small, and very sedative in much higher dosages.

THC is a far more dynamic part of it, which helps with stimulation, sedation, euphoria, and also reduces stress and a lot. THC makes you feel both energized and tired as well, depending on the strain and concentration. It usually is used along with terpenes, cannabinoids, along with flavonoids.

Kratom does have similar compounds and offers and entourage effect, but different at a more complex level.

THC is much more unpredictable, but cannabis does not create overdoses that are fatal, however there have been 11 deaths reported between 2011-2017, so it’s a much riskier supplement, and it can cause many different effects too.
