Kratom Vs. THC

THC and Kratom are two popular plants. Kratom binds directly to your serotonin receptors, while cannabis works with the ECS. Both of these can help with managing pain and stimulation, but they do come with various side effects.

What Kratom Is

Kratom is basically a stimulant herbal supplement that works well, even without the caffeine in it. Some contain additives of caffeine, but the plant normally doesn’t contain it, and some say that it can be sedative in much higher levels.

The main component in this is mitragynine, which binds directly to your serotonin and opioid receptors, which is why lots will use kratom for helping to withdraw from these opioids.

This is used in a lot of cases to help with aches and pain, and it can help with fatigue, diarrhea, and the like. Usually, this is brewed in a tea form that’s stimulating, and is availible in both powder and pill forms. It also is used to help with withdrawal.

It reduces pain, boosts energy, and helps with addiction; however, it can cause dizziness, problems with blood pressure, heart problems, and also damage to the liver, and may danger those who are pregnant, which is why if you are someone who is pregnant, don’t use this.  It’s seating too, and it can cause overdoses too.

What about THC

THC is something found in cannabis plants, and it’s a very prominent cannabinoid.

This binds directly to your ECS, and it can help with controlling the bodily receptors, helping with reproduction, immunity, appetite, and memory.

This is great for different functions within life, including memory and immunity, and it can help with your studying, and it also help with improving pain and other problems.

Lots of people use this to relieve pain, treat nausea and other problems associated with chemotherapy. There are even products with THC that are FDA approved too.

There are tons of benefits, including the following:

  • Helps with MS

  • Lowers insomnia

  • Reduces depression and anxiety

  • Can stimulate appetite

  • Helps with hard neuropathic pain

  • Less tremors for Parkinson’s patients

  • Manage and possibly kill cancer cells.

  • There are other therapeutic benefits too, which is why there are a lot of conditions that are allowing you to get a cannabis card.

Some people may want to use THC, but it can cause negative effects in people, especially since it can be quite psychoactive, and it can be something that can make you feel too intoxicated and high.

It also can cause the following side effects:

  • Agitation

  • Fatigue

  • Cottonmouth

  • Red eyes

  • Digestive problems and nausea

  • Headaches

This is usually if you take large dosages though.

The Differences and Similarities

They both come from plants, but THC is found in the cannabis plant.  They also are both psychoactive, but kratom comes from another kind of plant, and the psychoactive elements of kratom are quite small, and very sedative in much higher dosages.

THC is a far more dynamic part of it, which helps with stimulation, sedation, euphoria, and also reduces stress and a lot. THC makes you feel both energized and tired as well, depending on the strain and concentration. It usually is used along with terpenes, cannabinoids, along with flavonoids.

Kratom does have similar compounds and offers and entourage effect, but different at a more complex level.

THC is much more unpredictable, but cannabis does not create overdoses that are fatal, however there have been 11 deaths reported between 2011-2017, so it’s a much riskier supplement, and it can cause many different effects too.
